Cecil Ryckman

Cecil Webster Ryckman, age 98, of Riverdale, MI passed away Monday, December 7, 2020 at his home with his son at his side just minutes before his 99th birthday.

Cecil's wishes were to be cremated with Private Graveside Services at Elm Hall Cemetery, Elm Hall, MI at a later date.

Cecil was born in Sherman Township, Isabella County, MI on December 8, 1921, the son of Cecil Joshua and Carrie Louise (Nichols) Ryckman.

Cecil married Betty J. Mitchell on September 16, 1950. They were blessed with 66 years of marriage prior to Betty's death on their anniversary, September 16, 2016

Cecil served in the US Army as a PFC during WWII. He retired from the Ann Arbor & CSX Railroad and worked at various other jobs in carpentry and masonry through the years.

Cecil is survived by 2 children: Cecilia Hill of Cocoa Beach, FL, and Randy (Patricia) Ryckman of Riverdale; 11 grandchildren, many great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.  Cecil was preceded in death by his parents, wife Betty, sons: Cecil Jr., Darwin and David; six brothers: Chancey, Eldred, Henry, Harry James, and David Lee and an infant brother; and five sisters: Katie, Hazel, Emma, Helen and an infant sister.
