Celia Runyan

Celia Anna Runyan age 90 of Corunna, Michigan died Wednesday, August 8, 2007 at Durand Convalescent Center.

Funeral Services will be held at Smith Family Funeral Homes, Corunna Chapel on Saturday, August 10, 2007 at 11:00 A.M. Rev. Jeremy Peters will officiate with burial at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens, Owosso, Michigan. Visitation will be on Friday 2-8 P.M. with family present 2-4 & 6-8 P.M.

Celia was born in Corunna, Michigan on August 24, 1916 the daughter of John & Otilla (Franks ) Nickels. She resided most of her life in Corunna, Michigan. Celia married Luther Runyan in Corunna, Michigan on September 19, 1936, Luther predeceased her on December 30, 1994. She had worked for Corunna, Manufacturing, Redmonda�(TM)s and for Universal Electric for 19 years, when her husband was serving his country in WW2 overseas, she worked very hard and raised her family during that time. Celia loved to get dressed up when she was going out to lunch with her friends from the Friendship Club, she was also a life time member of the VFW Auxiliary #4006, Corunna. Her grandchildren were very special to her.

She is survived by 1 son Gaylord & Bonnie Runyan of Bancroft, Michigan, 5 grandchildren; Michael Earl Runyan of Corunna, Michigan, Kirt Duane & Paula Runyan of Durand, Michigan, Jonathan Maynard & Jeri Runyan of Corunna, Michigan, Lisa Ann & Steve Strouse of Breckenridge, Michigan, Korry Kay Runyan of Clio, Michigan, 11 great-grandchildren, 1 sister Rosaline Floyd of Brownstown, Michigan and several brother & sister in laws and many nieces & nephews. She was predeceased by her parents, husband, 1 son & daughter in law, Larry & Charlotte, 1 great granddaughter, Haley Runyan, 1 sister Irene Tomlinson, and 1 brother, Floyd Nickels.

Memorials may be made to Make a Wish Foundation in memory of her great granddaughter Haley. The family is being served by Smith Family Funeral Homes, Corunna Chapel.
