Charles Baird

Charles D. Baird, age 86, died October 13, 2008. Born in Lansing November 23, 1921 the son of Charles O. and Antoinette (Rood) Baird and was a retired machine operator for Federal Mogul. He was a lifetime member of the D.A.V. and the American Legion. Charles married Elaine Baird November 14, 1942 and she preceded him in death February 3, 1991. He married Dorothy Carpenter March 4, 1992 in Minnesota and she survives him.

Also surviving are one son, Michael (Lois) Baird of Carson City, two daughters, Carolyn (Michael) Sadler of St. Johns and Jacquelyn (John) Marshall of Eagle, step daughter, Sue (Fred) Grassin of New Port Richey, FL, step sons, Ted (Gail) Carpenter and Jerry (Jan) Carpenter, six grandsons and ten great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by step son Calvin Carpenter, great granddaughter, Cassie Baird, brother, Richard Baird and half sister, Minnie Jones.

Funeral Services will be 11:00 A.M. Saturday, October 18, 2008 at the Osgood Funeral Home, burial in East Plains Cemetery with Rev. Justin Sheperd officiating. The family will receive friends from 2-4 and 6-8 Friday at the funeral home. Sympathy may be expressed in the form of memorials to Longville Community Church, 194 School Lane, Longville, MN 56655.
