Charles Bancroft

Charles J. Bancroft age 74 of Ann Arbor, Michigan formerly of St. Johns, Michigan died Tuesday, August 3, 2004 at St. Joseph Hospital in Ann Arbor, Michigan.
Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, August 7, 2004 at 11:00 A.M. at Smith Family Funeral Homes, St. Johns Chapel. Mr. Marty Moore will officiate with internment at Fort Custer National Cemetery, Battle Creek, Michigan. Visitation will be held on Friday, August 6, 2004 2-8 P.M. with family present 2-4 & 6-8 P.M.
Charles was born on January 14, 1930 in Eureka Michigan the son of Judson O. & Lora ( Faragher ) Bancroft. He married Eleanor Guild on April 8, 1972 in St. Johns Michigan. Eleanor died on September 16, 1997. Charles was a farmer. He served in the U.S. Army and was a life member of Owosso VFW Post and DAV of Shiawassee County. Charles formerly attended Eureka Christian Church in Eureka, MI.
He is survived by son Scott Bancroft of St. Johns, MI, 2 stepdaughters Joanne Sweet of Jackson, MI, Stella Hawkins of Owosso, MI, 9 grandchildren & 3 great grandchildren, 1 sister Harriet & Ross Henry of Harrison, MI, 2 brothers Joe & Eloise Bancroft of Ovid, MI, AD & Ella Bancroft of Fowler, MI, many nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his parents, 1 sister, Martha, 5 brothers, R.G., Orson, Homer, Lyle, & William.
