Charles Anthony Bishop age 74 of Oakley, Michigan died Sunday, October 28, 2007 at Covenant Healthcare, Saginaw, MI.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Paul Catholic Church Owosso, MI on Friday, November 2, 2007 at 10:00 AM. Rev. Fr. John Fain will officiate with burial at St. Paul Catholic Cemetery Owosso, Michigan. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 31, 2007 from 6-8 P.M. and Thursday, November 1, 2007 from 2-8 P.M. with family present from 2-4 & 6-8 P.M.at Smith Family Funeral Homes, Jennings-Lyons Chapel, Owosso, MI. Rosary prayed on Thursday, November 1, 2007 at 7:00 P.M.
Charles was born in Flint, Michigan on June 18, 1933 the son of Joseph and Geneieve ( Sutter ) Bishop. He resided most of his life in Oakley and Chesaning, Michigan and graduated from St. Michael's Catholic High School with a class of 18 in 1951. Charles married Anne M. Walser on September 18, 1956 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Owosso, MI. He retired from GM after 43 years of service. He loved his Christmas Tree lot, dairy farming, and growing things. Charles was a member of St. Paul Catholic Church, Owosso, MI, and a UAW Member.
He is survived by his wife Anne Bishop of Oakley, MI, 4 children; Timothy & Songhui Bishop of Okinawa, Japan, Brian Bishop & fiancAC.e Jayne Robinson of Shephard, MI, Julie & Lloyd Davis of Wheeler, MI, Peter Bishop & fiancAC.e Tina Goodman of Owosso, MI, 8 grandchildren; Tessa, Christopher, Jason, Jodi, Hannah, Shantelle, Tiffany, & Alex, 2 great grandchildren; Gavin & Owen, 6 siblings; Norma & Bob Erdman of New Lothrop, MI, Jim & Pat Bishop of New Lothrop, MI, Joni Rombach of Chesaning, MI, Carolyn & Tom Lucius of Chesaning, MI, Ben & Doris Bishop of Chesaning, MI, Fred & Paula Bishop of New Lothrop, and many nieces & nephews. He is predeceased by his parents, and brother-in-law Jim Rombach.
