Charles William Gall, age 92, of Owosso, MI passed away Monday, November 22, 2010 at Welcome Home Assisted Living, Elsie, MI.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Owosso, MI on Saturday, November 27, 2010 at 10:30 AM, Rev. Fr. David Fisher will officiate. Burial will follow at St. Paul Cemetery, Owosso, MI. Visitation will be held on Friday November 26, 2010 from 2-8 PM. Rosary will be prayed at 6:00 PM Friday at Smith Family Funeral Homes Jennings-Lyons Chapel Owosso, MI.
Charles was born in New Lothrop, Michigan on January 30, 1918, the son of John and Barbara (Hajek) Gall. He was a 1936 graduate of New Lothrop High School. Charles served in the U.S. Army as an MSgt during WW II. He was a life long resident of Owosso.
Charles married Julia Sekan on February 14, 1942 in Columbus, GA. She passed on April 25, 2005 after 63 years of marriage.
Charles retired from General Motors in 1978 and served as an officer of GM Retirees Local 659. Charles was a member of the Corunna VFW Post 4005 and a lifelong member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. He called Bingo and worked at the fish fry for the VFW. Charles was an avid Detroit Tiger fan and enjoyed many years of bowling and golfing.
He is survived by his son David and Linda Gall of Houghton Lake, MI, daughter Patricia and Richard McAvoy of Lansing, MI, daughter Linda and Gary Kadzban of Owosso, MI, son Thomas and Beth Gall of Corunna, MI, daughter Joann and Brian Burke of New Era, MI, 13 grandchildren, and 14 great-grandchildren. Charles was preceded in death by his parents, wife, daughter Carolyn Daniel, grandchildren; Denise Daniel, Jennifer Daniel, Kurt Moskaitis, 3 brothers and 2 sisters.
