Charles Wayne "Chuck" Henry, age 78, of St. Johns, MI, passed away Saturday, March 1, 2025.
A Celebration of Life will be held at the Maple Rapids Community Center, 209 Union Street, Maple Rapids, MI 48853 at 4:00 P.M. on Sunday, March 9, 2025, with Pastor Kathy Leydorf-Keck officiating.
Charles was born in St. Johns, Michigan on August 27, 1946, the son of Cecil and Irene (Houseman) Henry. He was a graduate of Fulton High School with the Class of 1964. On January 15, 1966 he married the love of his life, Bonnie Jo Baker at the Maple Rapids Methodist Church. Chuck and Bonnie had a wonderful and loving life together; he always wanted what was best for Bonnie and found a way to have it happen in his special way.
Chuck retired from General Motors as a pipefitter in Lansing, MI. He had a strong interest in old cars and reading the AutoTrader. Chuck enjoyed westerns and read anything written by Louis L'Amour. Doting on his grandchildren and great-grandchildren brought him the greatest joy but his children had him wrapped around his little finger. Chuck will be remembered for his wonderful teasing personality. He was known as a curmudgeon with a heart of gold.
Chuck is survived by his wife Bonnie Henry of St. Johns, MI; son Michael and Sandy Henry of St. Johns, MI; daughter Lori and Matt Hill of St. Johns, MI; daughter Teresa and Sky Foster of St. Johns, MI; daughter Jessica and Travis Pasma, of Williamston, MI; 12 grandchildren: Elizabeth, Michelle, Shayna, Lillian, Asa, Laurel, Gabriel, Skyler, Shannon, Alek, Callie, and Kyle; 6 great-grandchildren: Elijah, Bensen, Emery, Rylee, Arya, and Wynter; sister Sue Allen, of Fowler, MI; step-sister Georgia Fedewa of Perrinton, MI; step-sister Debbie Schrader of St. Johns, MI. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews. Chuck was preceded in death by his parents, step-mother Josephine Henry and his brothers: Ted and Bill Henry.
