Charles Edward Skinner, age 61, of Owosso, MI died Thursday, September 17, 2009 peacefully at home.

Funeral Services will be held at Smith Family Funeral Homes Jennings-Lyons Chapel Owosso, MI on Saturday, September 19, 2009 at 11:00 A.M., Chaplain Beverly Adcock will officiate. Visitation will be held on Friday, September 19, 2009 from 5-8 P.M. at Smith Family Funeral Homes Jennings-Lyons Chapel Owosso, MI.

Charles was born in Owosso, Michigan on February 11, 1948, the son of Kenneth Lyle and Helen Jeanette (Shaw) Skinner. Charles resided all of his life in the Owosso area. He graduated from Perry Adult Education in 1989. He served in the U.S. Army in the Vietnam War. Charles worked for Midwest Bus Corporation as a mechanic for several years. He enjoyed spending time helping others, hunting, fishing and being with family and friends. He was the President of the Northwoods Home Association, and he was a UAW Local Health and Safety Representative.

He is survived by daughter Julie and Dan Hall of Petosky, MI, daughter Carolynn Bentley of Harbor Springs, MI, son Steven and Katrina Skinner of Indian River, MI, daughter Tricia and Scott Fairfield of Owosso, MI, and the mother of his children Saundra Klockziem. He is also survived by 10 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren with one on the way; brother Kenneth Skinner Jr., and best friend Gerald Eckmyre. He was predeceased by his parents and dear friend Cheryl Chapel.
