Charles Sych

Charles James Sych, age 89, of St. Louis, MI passed away Thursday, May 21, 2015 at Mid Michigan Medical Center-Midland, Midland, MI.

Funeral Services will be held at Smith Family Funeral Homes, St. Louis, MI on Wednesday, May 27, 2015 at 1:00 P.M. with Mr. Keith Wise officiating. Burial will take place at Emerson Township Cemetery, Gratiot County, MI. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, May 26, 2015 from 5:00-8:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Visitation will also be held from 12:00 P.M. until the time of the funeral service.

Charles was born in St. Louis, Michigan on March 1, 1926, the son of Peter and Anna (Bielek) Sych. He married Goldie Clarline Smith on December 27, 1947 in St. Louis, MI. Charlie was a lifelong farmer. He loved polka music, accordion music and going to their cabin. He was a member of the CSA, St. Louis, MI.

He is survived by his wife Goldie Clarline Sych, children; Gary (Sylvia) Sych, Caren Sych, Cathy (Ronald) Abbott, Ann (Ed) Hartman, grandchildren; Amanda (Tony) Sych, Christopher Sych, Margo Abbott, Zane Abbott, Georganna (Jim) Bell, great grandchildren; Victoria Carroll, Brandon Sych and Emmitt Haas. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Anna and Peter Sych, brothers George Kozler, John Kozler and sister Anna (John) Hrabal.
