Charles Peter "Chuck" Tamulis, age 70, of Perrinton, MI, passed away Friday, February 3, 2023, at his home.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Martin De Porres Catholic Church, Perrinton, MI, at 11:00 A.M. on Friday, February 10, 2023, with Rev. Fr. Edwin Dwyer presiding. Burial will take place at Payne Cemetery at a later date. Visitation will be held on Thursday, February 9, 2023, from 5:00-8:00 P.M. at Smith Family Funeral Homes Ithaca, MI.
Charles was born in Muskegon, Michigan on May 10, 1952, the son of Peter Charles and Ailien Sophie (Wilson) Tamulis. He graduated from Fruitport High School with the class of 1970. On October 21, 1972, Chuck married his high school sweetheart, Lynn Wells, in Muskegon, Michigan. They recently celebrated fifty years of marriage together.
Chuck retired in 2016 from Mahle in St. Johns. He enjoyed taking care of his lawn, gardening, and spending time outdoors. Chuck was an avid U of M fan. In the winter months he liked putting model airplanes together. Chuck and Lynn had been loving time spent with their new puppy Hershey. Chuck and his son Charlie spent a lot of father son time at their property up north. He took special care of his daughter Kelly taking care of her needs. Chuck was a wonderful husband, dad, grandpa, and neighbor. He would help anyone in need and will be greatly missed.
He proudly served his country as a corporal in the United States Marine Corps from 1970-1972. He was a member of the E.J. Werner VFW post in Fowler where he was also a past commander for two years. During his time as commander he received the White Hat Honor both years.
He is survived by his wife Lynn Tamulis of Perrinton, MI; son, Charles Tamulis II and Cindy Eberhard of Perrinton, MI; daughter Kelly Tamulis of Merrill, MI; grandson Zachary Sansone of Missouri; brothers in law: Rusty Wells of Bailey, MI (and his two sons); Steve Wells of Twin Lake, MI (and his three sons); and special cousins: Steve Tamulis, Bruce Tamulis, and Walt Tamulis. He was preceded in death by his parents and daughter Karen.
