Christina Palus

Christina M. Palus, age 82, of Elsie, MI passed away Monday, December 7, 2009 at Spectrum Healthcare, Grand Rapids, MI.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Cyril's Catholic Church Bannister, MI on Saturday, December 12, 2009 at 10:00 A.M., Rev. Fr. Wolfgang Streichardt will officiate. Burial will follow at Riverside Cemetery Elsie, MI. Visitation will be held on Friday December 11, 2009 from 1-8 PM at Smith Family Funeral Homes. A Rosary will be prayed 7:00 PM Friday at the Funeral Home.

Christina was born in Midland, Michigan on January 3, 1927, the daughter of Steven and Anna (Beilko) Ochodnicky. She graduated from St. Johns High School and resided most of her life in Elsie. Christina was a member of St. Cyril's Catholic Church Bannister, MI.

Christina married Louis Palus on August 16, 1947 at St. Cyril's Catholic Church in Bannister, Michigan, Louis passed away on November 1, 2005.

Chris loved to cook, bake and read. Grandchildren and great-grandchildren were a very important part of her life.

She is survived by her 3 daughters; Mary and Dale Terryberry of Charlevoix, MI, Vicki Peak of Cedar Springs, MI, Kristie and Marty Peet of St. Johns, MI, 2 sons; Joseph and Trudy Palus of Ovid, MI, Louis Palus, Jr. of Grand Rapids, MI, 13 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren. Chris was preceded in death by her parents, husband and daughter Kathy Vasilenko.
