Chrystal D. Hansen, age 95, of Edmore, MI died Monday, October 3, 2011 at the home of her grandson and caretaker Melanie and Doug Bartlett where she had resided for the past four years.

Funeral Services will be held at Edmore Faith United Methodist Church on Friday, October 7, 2011 at 12:00 P.M. with Fred Plath and Rev. Mike Riegler officiating. Burial will take place at Vinewood Cemetery Edmore, MI. Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 6, 2011 from 5-8 PM. at Edmore Faith United Methodist Church and for one hour prior to the service on Friday morning.

Chrystal was born in Blanchard, Michigan on December 26, 1915, the daughter of Henry and Edna (Carr) Culp. Chrystal graduated from Blanchard High School with the class of 1933. Chrystal married George A. Hansen on October 3, 1934 in Edmore, MI. He died on November 19, 1998. Chrystal was a lifelong resident of the Blanchard/Edmore area. She retired from GE/Hitachi Magnetics Corp. in 1985 at the age of 70. Chrystal enjoyed the last four years with her caretakers Melanie and Doug Bartlett. She was an avid reader, gardening, and enjoyed crafting. She was a past member of the Edmore United Methodist Church and Body of Christ Family Church in Howard City, MI. She was also a member of the Edmore GFWC Women's Club for 60 years.

She is survived by 2 daughters; Sharlene and Jon Hansen of Scottsdale, AZ, Darla Bartlett of Edmore, MI, son Kevin and Sherri Hansen of El Dorado, CA, 8 grandchildren; Doug and Melanie Bartlett of Edmore, MI, Dennis and Nancy Bartlett of Blanchard, MI, Darcy and Bill Walukonis of Cedar Springs, MI, Kurt and Debbie Stratton of Phoenix, AZ, Troy Stratton of Scottsdale, AZ, Michele Hansen of Cameron Park, CA, Carey and Brian Kutz of St. Charles, MI, Taylor and Kathryn Hansen of USMC, 16 great grandchildren, 2 great great grandchildren, sister Marilyn and Orrin Moses of Swartz Creek, MI, and sister in law Polly Culp of Lake Geneva, WI. She was predeceased by her parents, husband, son Collin Hansen, 3 infant great grandchildren, 3 brothers; Bernard, Gaylord, and Duane Culp, and son in law Dale Bartlett.
