Clarence Wood Sr

Clarence James "Jim" Wood Sr., age 60, of St. Louis, MI went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, November 28, 2012 at Gratiot Medical Center in Alma, MI.

A Memorial Service will be held at Smith Family Funeral Homes, St. Louis, Michigan on Thursday, December 6, 2012 at 3:00 PM, with Pastor Shirley Ellsworth officiating. Visitation will be held on Thursday prior to the service from 12-3 PM. at the funeral home.

Clarence was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania on March 28, 1952, the son of Ernest and Jane (Foster) Wood. He married Alice Faye Brooks on August 16, 1971 in Edmore, MI. She passed away on February 25, 2004. Jim was a member of Sumner New Hope Tabernacle in Riverdale, and he also attended First Baptist Church in St. Louis.

He is survived by his son Jerry Wood and Liz Bennett of Alma, MI, daughter Susan and Todd Winnie of St. Louis, MI, daughter Peggy Atchley of St. Louis, MI, son Jim and Loretta Wood Jr. of St. Louis, MI, grandchildren; Carol Cooper, Kimberly Gibbins, Kelsey Wood, Robert Crook, Meshia Crook, Amber Gibbins, Paige Cooper, Jordan Crook, Marcy Wood, Logan Crook, Timmy Byers Jr., and Coltyn Moon, 4 great grandchildren, sister Peggy and Jerry Albrecht of Pennsylvania, brother Larry Wood of Pennsylvania, sister Linda Wood of Pennsylvania, and sister Jeanie Moninger of Pennsylvania. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Alice, daughter Martha Wood, brother Kenneth, and sister Esther "Cookie" Oddo.
