Claretta Marie "Clare" Rogers, age 67, of Morrice, MI passed away Sunday, July 11, 2010 at Memorial Healthcare, Owosso, MI.

A Memorial Service will be held at Our Savior Lutheran Church, Perry, MI on Saturday, July 17, 2010 at 11:00 A.M. Pastor Randall Johnson will officiate.

Claretta was born in Owosso, Michigan on March 31, 1943, the daughter of Herbert B. and Doris L. (Buche) Confer.

Claretta married Jack Rogers on December 23, 1973, to this marriage was born a son, Jason. Claretta resided most of her life in Shiawassee County.

Claretta ran a child foster care home from 1973-1979. She also had an adult foster care from 1984-1988 in Elsie. She was a member of Our Savior Lutheran Church in Perry, MI. Claretta attended the University of Michigan in Flint where she earned a nursing degree. She worked at Sparrow Hospital for 6 years and worked as a volunteer for the Owosso Township Fire Department form 1982-1983. Claretta liked reading, loved her church, helping others and animals. She will be remembered as having a good sense of humor with a caring heart.

She is survived by her son Jason Rogers of Morrice, MI, mother Doris Confer of Durand, MI, great-aunt Elyse Barcus of Corunna, MI, aunt Joan Csirke of Owosso, MI, 2 sisters-in-law; Jan Bokros of Washington, MI, Janet Confer of Owosso, MI; 2 step sons; Douglas and Debbie Rogers of Port Charlotte, FL, and Dirk Rogers of Fort Myers, FL. Claretta is also survived by several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her husband Jack Rogers, father Herbert B. Confer, brother Herbert L. Confer, mother-in-law Beulah Rogers Chadwick and her grandparents.
