Clyde Hoerner

Clyde John Hoerner passed away on November 11, 2014, at the age of 71. He was born in Ingham County, MI, the son of John and Lucille (Martin) Hoerner. Clyde worked as a team leader at General Motors until his retirement. Clyde cherished his wife of 46 years, Sharon Fedewa Hoerner, his family, and God. He was known for his sense of humor, his kind heart, and gift of gab. He made pancakes for the grand dogs whenever they visited. Clyde never met a stranger and would talk longer than anyone cared to listen about how proud he was of his three daughters. He was there for his wife through her trials; she was there for his.

He made the best bacon, knew the location of every thrift store in a 60 mile radius, loved westerns, and kept spare parts to every lawn mower he ever owned. He hated to throw anything away and would spend hours repairing things. No one wanted to be the first to try the toaster after it was just fixed. He loved the Fowler Eagles; he cheered their wins and felt deeply their losses. The only thing he loved more was family.

Clyde is survived by his wife, Sharon; daughters, Kellie Hoerner of Grand Rapids, Kristen Hoerner of Petoskey and Sara Hoerner of Fowler; brothers, LaVerne (Linda) Hoerner and Thomas (Claudia) Hoerner; sisters, June (Fred) Mason, Marlene (Thomas) Seigo; brother-in-law, James Schrauben; sister-in-law, Patricia (Joe) Klein; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Mary Lou Buckner and Katherine Schrauben; brothers, Martin Hoerner and John Hoerner, Jr. (infant).

A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10:30 AM Friday, November 14, 2014 at Most Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Fowler. The concelebrants will be Fr. Duane Pamment and Fr. Dennis Howard. The family will receive friends Thursday, November 13, 2014 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. with a rosary being prayed at 7 p.m. at the Goerge Chapel of the Osgood Funeral Homes in Fowler.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made in Clyde's name to the American Diabetes Association, 1701 North Beauregard St., Alexandria, VA 22311 or www.diabetes.org. The family is being served by the Osgood Funeral Homes.
