Cornelius H. "Neil" Wischmeyer, age 88, of St. Louis, MI passed away Saturday, September 5, 2009 at Schnepp Health Care Center, St. Louis, MI.
Funeral Services will be held at Smith Family Funeral Homes St. Louis Chapel St. Louis, MI on Thursday, September 10, 2009 at 11:00 A.M. Mr. Don Horstman will officiate. Burial will follow at Oak Grove Cemetery, St. Louis, MI. Visitation will be held on Wednesday September 9, 2009 from 2-8 PM with family present 2-4 & 6-8 PM at Smith Family Funeral Homes, St. Louis, MI.
Neil was born in Shepherd, Michigan on January 25, 1921, the son of Harry and Emma (Wieferich) Wischmeyer. Neil married Ruth Brown on March 1, 1947. Ruth passed away June 11, 2009. He resided most of his life in St. Louis, MI.
Neil farmed most of his life and drove truck. He enjoyed wintering in Florida with Ruth. Neil was a member of the St. Louis Moose Lodge. He hosted the Wischmeyer Family Campout every year and he enjoyed that very much.
He is survived by his 3 daughters Linda Wolfe of Alma, MI, Karen and Randy Dietz of Ithaca, MI, Carol and Bob Minnick of Green Valley, AZ; 3 granddaughters Rhonda Allen, Ranae and Chris Guerrero, Elizabeth Dietz; 4 great grandchildren Trevor Allen, Grant Reynolds, Miranda Oswald, Paige Wolfe; 4 brothers Sil and Betty Wischmeyer of Swartz Creek, MI, Gene and Gladys Wischmeyer of Vassar, MI, Paul and Sue Wischmeyer of Alma, MI, Bob and Donna Wischmeyer of Wixom, MI; 3 sisters Delores Clearey of Leeds, AL, Eileen and Don Hortsman of Midland, MI, Kathryn and Mike Daymon of Riverdale, MI. Neil is also survived by many, many nieces and nephews
Neil was preceded in death by his parents; wife Ruth; son-in-law Ron Wolfe; brother Dick Wischmeyer, Sonny Wischmeyer, Raymond Wischmeyer; sister Alberta Fillhard.
