D. Barton

D. Orland Barton, passed away Thursday, December 1, 2011, at the age of 75. Born on June 2, 1936, in Plainwell, MI. The son of Orland and Dortha (Kelso) Barton. Orland married Eva Anderson, May 5, 2006 in Clinton County and she survives him. He was a member of the V.F.W. and D.A.V. He retired after 20 years from the U.S. Navy, then retired with over 10 years service as Postmaster in Ovid.

He is survived by daughter, Mary (Ben) Sexton, son, William (Renee) Barton, step-daughters, Sheree (William) Stevens, Kathryn Louth, grandchildren, Erica, Christie, Nick, Corey, Aaron, Chelsey, several great grandchildren and his mother, Dortha Barton. Orland was preceded in death by his father, brother, Bruce Barton, and first wife, Marlene Kay Barton.

Funeral Services will be held 1:00 p.m., Saturday, December 3, 2011 at the Houghton Chapel in Ovid. The family will receive friends from 10:30 a.m.-1:00 p.m. prior to the service Saturday. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Diabetes Association or Hospice Advantage. "Sailor, Rest Your Oars." The family was served by The Osgood Funeral Homes.
