D. Louise Collins age 80 of Corunna, Michigan formerly of Goddard, Kansas died Saturday, August 25, 2007 at Shiawasee County Medical Facility, Corunna, Michigan.
Private Family Funeral Services will be held at Smith Family Funeral Homes, Corunna Chapel Corunna, MI on Tuesday, August 28, 2007 at 11:00 AM. Rev. Dr. David A. Russell will officiate with burial at Pine Tree Cemetery Corunna, Michigan. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, August 28, 2007 at 10:00 A.M. until time of service at 11:00 A. M.
Dorothy Louise was born in Greensburg, Kansas on January 9, 1927 the daughter of Frank and Lydia ( Jantz ) Schmidt. She resided most of her life in Goddard Kansas and attended school in Greensburg, Kansas. Louise married Walter Collins in 1971. She enjoyed cooking, and was a ribbon winner at county fair for her cinnamon rolls and worked as a cook at a nursing home in Goddard Kansas. She also enjoyed crocheting, and she loved her cats. Louise attended Owosso First United Methodist Church.
She is survived by 2 sisters in-law; Anne Schmidt of Witchita, KS, & Molly J. Schmidt of Corunna, 8 nieces & nephews, and several great nieces & nephews. She is predeceased by parents, husband, Walter Collins, 2 brothers, Paul C. Schmidt, & Vernon L. Schmidt.
Memorials may be made to Shiawassee County Medical Care Facility, Cournna, Michigan. The family is being served by Smith Family Funeral Homes, Corunna Chapel.
