Daland "Dale" Rodney Thomas Jr., age 43, of Punta Gorda, FL died Sunday, July 5, 2009 at his home.

Funeral Services will be held at Smith Family Funeral Homes St. Johns Chapel St. Johns, MI on Tuesday, July 14, 2009 at 12:00 P.M., Rev. Danny Stoneham will officiate with burial at Forrest Lawn Memorial Gardens, Dimondale, MI. Visitation will be held on Monday, July 13, 2009 from 2-8 p.m. with family present from 2-4 & 6-8 P.M. at Smith Family Funeral Homes St. Johns Chapel St. Johns, MI.

Dale was born in Lansing, Michigan on January 11, 1966, the son of Daland R. and Nadine C. (Lee) Thomas. He enjoyed NASCAR racing, and Elvis music. He lived in Florida moving from the Lansing area about 20 years ago.

He is survived by his father Daland R. "Elvis" Thomas Sr. of Lansing, MI, 1 daughter Victoria Thomas of Florida, 3 sons; Daniel Thomas of Lansing, MI, Joshua & Aaron Thomas of North Carolina, 1 grandson Syncere Showers of Florida, 1 sister Teresa and Ray Rumsey of Lansing, MI, and niece Tara Rae Rumsey of Lansing, MI. He was predeceased by his mother, Nadine Carol Thomas.
