Dale Hier

Dale Wayne Hier, age 60, of Elsie, MI, passed away Saturday, August 10, 2019, at Sparrow Hospital, Lansing, MI.

A Graveside Service with military honors will be held at Maple Grove Cemetery, Ovid, MI, on Thursday, August 15, 2019 at 2:00 P.M.

Dale was born in St. Johns, MI on October 19, 1958, the son of Donald Wayne and Harriett Rose (Simpson) Hier. He graduated from Ovid- Elsie High School with the class of 1976 and earned a degree in accounting from Baker College.  Dale proudly served his country in the United States Navy. He worked for General Motors for 24 years. Dale married Judy Kay Freeman Krull on December 10, 1999 at St. Johns, MI.

Dale loved NASCAR, the Red Wings, and the Lions. He also enjoyed going to car shows with his step-sons' 1970 El Camino and 1965 Mustang Fastback.

Dale is survived by wife Judy Hier of Elsie, MI; 2 daughters: Heather and Greg Harper, and Rachel and David Fewelling, 3 step-sons: Kristopher and Jennifer Krull, Donald Krull, and William Krull, and special friend Christopher Greene ("Chris, you got your street back!").   He is also survived by grandchildren: Jared Harper, Lauren Harper, Lily Lambert, Alden Fewelling, Kristopher Krull II, Julian Krull, and Jayden Krull; two brothers: Jeff and Peggy Hier, and Donald and Sheila Hier, and many nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews.  Dale was preceded in death by his parents.
