     Dale Charles Leavitt, age 85, of Ashley, MI, passed away peacefully with his family by his side Wednesday, September 25, 2024, at Schnepp Health Care Center, St. Louis, Michigan.
     In following Dale's wishes, a cremation has taken place and a celebration of Dale's life will take place at a later date. Burial will take place at Collier Cemetery, Ashley, MI.
     Dale was born in St. Johns, Michigan on February 4, 1939, the son of George Clayton and Margaret Mae (Morrill) Leavitt. He graduated from Rodney B. Wilson High School with the Class of 1957. Dale proudly served his country in the U.S. Army.
     Dale was a hard worker. He grew up on the family farm and continued farming for many years. He worked for Michigan State University for 25 years. In retirement, Dale manufactured custom trailers.
     Dale enjoyed cars and spending time at the drag strip with his family and friends. He spent many hours watching racing, and baseball. He collected John Deere tractors. Dale liked fishing and took many fishing trips with his friends.
     He is survived by three children: Dean (Stephanie) Leavitt of Charlotte, MI; Brent Leavitt of Ashley, MI; and Rhonda (Jeremy) Hoover of St. Johns, MI; six grandchildren: Grace, Collin, Katie, Jaycob, Gavin, and Bransen; two sisters: Betty Leavitt, and Marilyn (Tom) Irrer, and the mother of his children Christine Leavitt. He was preceded in death by his parents.
