Dale Misenhelder

Dale Charles Misenhelder age 96, of Ithaca, MI, passed away on Wednesday, November 8, 2017 at Masonic Pathways, Alma, MI.

Funeral Services will be held at Smith Family Funeral Homes Ithaca, MI, on Monday, November 13, 2017 at 11:00 A.M., with Pastor Gary Bender officiating.  Burial will take place at Ithaca Cemetery, Ithaca, MI.  Visitation will be held on Sunday, November 12, 2017 from 2:00 - 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home with a Masonic Lodge Service at 6:00 P.M. on Sunday.

Dale was born in Ithaca, MI on July 22, 1921, the son of Charles and Addie (Bovee) Misenhelder. He graduated from Fulton High School with the class of 1940. On February 8, 1945 Dale married Viola Anderson in Ithaca, MI; Viola passed away on January 22, 1976.

Dale was a farmer and a State Farm agent in Ithaca for many years. He enjoyed deer hunting and traveling. In his later years Dale enjoyed calling on his neighbors in the community. He was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church, Wheeler, MI.  Dale was a 32nd Degree Mason and a member of the Masonic Lodge #123 of Ithaca, MI for over 55 years, and he was also a member of the Shriners.  Dale served on the Gratiot County Soil Conservation Board for 30 years and was active in the Gratiot County Republication Party for 40 years.

He is survived by his children; Larry and Linda Misenhelder of Myrtle Beach, SC, Janet and Ronald Davis of Ithaca, MI, Elaine and Gregory Flegel of St. Louis, MI, John and Lori Misenhelder of Ithaca, MI, 8 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, and special friend, Joan Wiley of Alma, MI.  He was predeceased by his parents, wife, daughter Eileen Katherine, 1 brother and 3 sisters.
