Daniel Sean "Danny" Watters age 49, of Anchorage Alaska, formerly of Elsie, MI passed away Saturday November 14, 2015 after a brief illness with lung cancer, at Cartwright Hospice Center of Saginaw.
A Memorial Service will be held at the Shiawassee Conservation Club, 4247 N. M-52, Owosso, MI on Sunday, November 29, 2015 at 2:00 P.M., with Rev. Frank Szybala officiating.
Danny was born December 13, 1965 in St. Johns, Ml. He was the son of Jim and (Janie) Watters of Durand and Leone (Dorsey) Humphrey of St. Louis, MI.
Danny attended Ovid-Elsie High School, and moved to Montana and then Alaska in 1990 and had various jobs and adventures. He worked in the oil fields in Montana. He began working in the salmon and crab fishing industry, worked on the North Slope in oil drilling on the Artic Ocean and enjoyed working with many Iditarod dog mushers caring for the animals.
Danny was an avid outdoorsman and hunter and enjoyed living "off the grid" to be outside. He enjoyed flying his airplane in Alaska. He especially enjoyed bear and moose hunts, enough so to delay treatments to enjoy the time he had left and to return home to be with his family.
He is survived by his parents, 3 siblings, sisters; Kim and Mike Fabus of Elsie, LeAnn Parker and Curt Bitterman of New Lothrop, brother Doug Watters and Theresa Eisinger of Sidney, Montana, 4 nieces, 3 nephews and many aunts, uncles, and cousins. He also leaves behind his special friend of many years Linda Brown of Alaska with whom he shared many adventures and his beloved dogs. He was predeceased by his grandparents.
