Darold DeLong

Darold S. DeLong age 85 of St. Louis, Michigan died Friday, August 5, 2005 at his home.
Funeral Services will be held at Smith Family Funeral Homes, St. Louis Chapel on Monday, August 8, 2005 at 11:00 AM. Deacon John Cremin will officiate with burial at Oak Grove Cemetery St. Louis, Michigan. Visitation will be held on Monday, August 8 for one hour prior to the service.
Darold was born in Kawkawlin, Michigan on October 2, 1919 the son of Henry and Margaret ( Peltier ) DeLong. He has lived in St. Louis since 1953. Darold married Clara E. Grappin on August 22, 1939 in Alma, Michigan. She passed away November 12, 2000. He retired from Lobdell - Emery in 1983. He loved to go to the casino and was an avid fisherman.
He is survived by his son LeRoy & Rose DeLong of St. Louis, MI, daughter Anna & Robert Dittenber of Midland, MI, son Darold & Marie DeLong of Lake City, MI, daughter Dawn & Michael Smith of Ashley, MI, son Dana & Martha DeLong of St. Louis, MI, son Henry & Helen DeLong of Farwell, MI, son Timothy DeLong of Alma, MI, brother Raymond DeLong of Sumner, MI, brother Joe DeLong of Kansas, sister Elaine Parkinson of Florida, 20 grandchildren, 33 great grandchildren, and 2 great great grandchildren. He was predeceased by his parents, wife, grandson Darold "Bud" DeLong, granddaughter Bobbie Jo Dittenber, 1 brother Percy DeLong, and 1 sister Deloris Bradley.
Memorials may be made to the Gratiot Area Hospice. The family is being served by Smith Family Funeral Homes, St. Louis Chapel.
