David Lloyd Adams age 65 of Owosso, Michigan died Saturday, July 12, 2008 at Sparrow Specialty Hospital, Lansing, Michigan.

Funeral Services will be held at Smith Family Funeral Homes, Jennings-Lyons Chapel, Owosso, Michigan on Wednesday, July 16, 2008 at 3:00 P.M. Pastor Tom Goupil will officiate. Visitation will be on Wednesday, July 16, 2008 from 11:00 A.M. until the time of services at 3:00 P.M.

David was born in Owosso, Michigan on May 23, 1943 the son of Robert Ira & Lila Jane (Harris) Adams and resided most of his life in Owosso, Michigan. He graduated from Owosso High School with the class of 1962. On June 19, 1962 he married Doris L. Porter in Jonesboro Arkansas. He served his country in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam Conflict and attended the Naval Academy A&C School in aviation. David was the past superintendent for the City of Corunna Water & Sewer Department from 1967 till 1972 in 1973 he started Adams & Sons Hauling. He was an animal lover, especially dogs, his family was most important to him. David was a member of Gilead Baptist Church, and a lifetime member of the V.F.W. Post 9455 Owosso, Michigan.

Survivors include his wife, Doris Adams of Owosso, Michigan, 3 sons; Duane Adams of Mt. Morris, Michigan, Darren & Michelle Adams of Durand, Michigan, David Adams of Owosso, Michigan, 1 daughter, Lila Michelle VanEtten & Dwayne Martin of Owosso, Michigan, 6 grandchildren, Alicia Adams, Angela Adams, Joshua Geren, Matthew Karrer, Skylar David Adams, and Hunter Adams. 1 great granddaughter Mabel Rose, 2 brothers; Ron Adams of Florida, Rick & Peggy Adams of Davidson, Michigan, and 1 sister, Joyce & Terry McCormick of Florida. He was predeceased by his parents, 1 brother Robert Adams and 1 sister Judy Gale.

Memorials may be made to the family in lieu of flowers. The family is being served by Smith Family Funeral Homes, Jennings-Lyons Chapel, Owosso, Michigan.
