David Everts

David Lynn Everts, age 59 of Owosso, MI passed away Thursday, January 31, 2019 at his home.

A Memorial Service will be held at the United Church of Ovid, 131 W. Front Street, Ovid, MI, on Saturday, March 23, 2019 at 11:30 A.M. with visitation from 10 A.M. until the time of the service.  A luncheon will follow the service.

David was born in St. Johns, MI on October 1, 1959 the son of L.D. and Ernestine (Moore) Everts.  He was a graduate of Ovid Elsie High School and resided most of his life in Ovid, St. Johns and Durand. David served his country in the U.S. Army.

Most recently, David worked as a Utilities Operator for the City of Durand.  He loved hunting, fishing and camping but spending time with his family was the most important to him. David loved people, loved to talk and was very social, making friends wherever he went.  He loved being an assistant coach to the Corunna Cavaliers High School Football Team where his step-son played.

He is survived by his mother Ernestine Hatfield of Lansing, MI; daughter Andrea O'Leary of Novi, MI; son Corey Everts of Bay City, MI; step-daughter Kara and Shaun Parker of Owosso, MI; step-son Justin Williams of Owosso, MI; 4 grandchildren: Morgan O'Leary, Nathan Everts, Maverick and Anderson Parker; brother Ernest and Shannen Everts of Ovid, MI; sister Connie and Walter Sloan of Sun City, AZ; sister Sally Wilson of Lansing, MI; step-brother Ken and Lori Hatfield of DeWitt, MI; step-sister Peggy Collins of Cape Coral, FL.  David is also survived by many nieces and nephews.  David was preceded in death by his father L.D. Everts, a sibling at birth, step-father Donald Hatfield, 2 brothers-in-law: Fred Wilson and Kevin Collins, and his mother-in-law Rachel Costello.
