David Allen Ganssley, age 54, of Owosso, MI was taken suddenly away from his family on Tuesday, September 7, 2010 as a result of a car accident. Another good soul was taken from this earth.

A Funeral Service will be held at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Owosso, MI on Saturday, September 11, 2010 at 10:30 AM, Father David Fisher will officiate. Burial will follow at West Haven Cemetery, New Haven Township, MI. Visitation will be held on Thursday September 9, 2010 from 6-8 PM and Friday, September 10, 2010 from 2-8 PM with family present 2-4 & 6-8 PM with a Prayer Service being offered at 6:00 PM at Smith Family Funeral Homes Corunna Chapel Corunna, MI.

David was born in Flint, Michigan on March 4, 1956, the son of Duane and Joan (Patterson) Ganssley. He attended Durand High School, graduating in 1974. He recently enjoyed seeing many of his high school friends at their 36th Class Reunion.

Dave married Sharon Havalda on October 4, 1980 in Owosso and together they raised 4 wonderful children. His children meant the world to him and he was extremely proud of each of their accomplishments. He never missed any of their activities; they were the love and pride of his life.

Dave was the Director of Marketing for NBC 25 in Genesee County. Dave was a talented musician, playing in many area bands but mostly known for his band "Full Gainer". He enjoyed golfing, camping, gardening and hanging out at the family pool. His Saturday routine was to go to the coffee shop with his father-in-law, Tony Havalda and then head to an auction to check out the jewelry wagon. Dave was also active with the Corunna Athletic Club. He attended St. Joseph Catholic Church, Owosso, MI.

He will be greatly missed by his wife Sharon Ganssley; sons Corey, Tyler & Trevor; daughter Janelle; brother Jeff and Kathy Ganssley of Lennon; sister Terri Ganssley of New York; father-in-law Tony Havalda of Owosso; sister-in-law Renee and Mike Fisher of Owosso, MI; brother-in-law TJ Havalda of Owosso, MI; nieces Randilyn and Kayla Ganssley & Rachelle Fisher. Dave will also be missed by many other family members and friends. Dave was preceded in death by his parents Duane and Joan Ganssley, and his mother-in-law Helen Havalda.
