David Hein
David Edwin Hein, age 81, of Lennon, MI passed away Thursday, January 21, 2010 at his home.
Funeral Services will be held at Smith Family Funeral Homes Corunna Chapel Corunna, MI on Monday, January 25, 2010 at 11:00 A.M., Pastor Louis Canaday will officiate. Burial will take place at Pine Tree Cemetery Corunna, MI. Visitation will be held on Saturday, January 23, 2010 from 6-8 P.M. and on Sunday, January 24, 2010 from 2-8 with the family present 2-4 & 6-8.at the Smith Family Funeral Home, Corunna Chapel.
David was born in Corunna, Michigan on April 22, 1928, the son of Fred and Esther (Sleeseman) Hein. David graduated from Corunna High School. He married Carol Weber on April 22, 1957 in Mitz, Indiana. David served his country in the U.S. Army in WW II. David worked for General Motors in Flint for 31 years at the metal Fabricating Plant before his retirement on January 1, 1984. He enjoyed skydiving in his younger years, gardening, and auction sales. He also enjoyed his amateur radio club and was a member of the Shiawassee Amateur Radio Association with the call sign of WB8ABF. David resided in Shiawassee County all of his life. He was a charter member of Calvary Baptist Church of Gaines, Michigan and a lifetime member of the VFW Post #405 and the D.A.V. Chapter 63.
He is survived by his wife Carol Hein, son Michael and Dianna Hein of Corunna, MI, step daughter Diana and Gary Hulbert of Morrice, MI, daughter-in-law Marie Hein of Charleston, South Carolina, 5 grandchildren; Hannah Hein, Emily Hein, Mason Hein, Savannah Hein, and Jeremiah Hein, 1 sister Doris Pendell, 2 brothers Donald and June Hein and Ray and Eleanor Hein, and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his son Charles Hein, brother Dale Hein and sister Alberta Estepp.
