David Niethammer

David Miles Niethammer, age 64, of Ovid, MI died Thursday, May 31, 2012 at his home with his family by his side.

Private family services have been held.

David was born in Saline, Michigan on June 18, 1947, the son of Leonard Miles and Verna Pauline (Clevidence) Niethammer. He married Donna (Seltzer) Wagonlander on December 27, 1980 in Lime Ridge, Pennsylvania. David served his country in the US Air Force during Vietnam. He worked as a Journeyman Electrician and retired from Lear Manufacturing. He was raised in Saline, MI and enjoyed spending time at the family vacation home at Heart Lake in Gaylord as a child.

David is survived by his wife of 31 years, Donna Niethammer of Ovid, MI, daughter Lycia and Paul Heidepriem of Oxford, NC, daughter Amy and Brett Boise of Saline, MI, son Doug and Betsy Niethammer of Aurora, NC, son Mike and Jeannie Wagonlander of White Lake, MI, daughter Laura and Andrew Wagonlander-Kartsounes of Fenton, MI, ten grandchildren: Max, Saige, Diggs, Joshua, Olivia, Ashley, Lyndsey, Beckett, Chapin and Harper, brother Douglas and Karen Niethammer of Mesa, AZ, sister Marilyn and Bill Glaze of Saline, MI and several nieces and nephews. David was preceded in death by his parents.

David's family would like to especially thank sisters-in-law, Becky Seltzer and Gloria White and the Palliative Care Team at the Veterans Hospital in Ann Arbor. The family is comforted knowing that David is at peace taking Sammy for his run and play all day.
