Dean Clarence Crosby, age 83, of Elwell, MI, passed away Tuesday, September 6, 2022, at MyMichigan Medical Center - Gratiot with his wife by his side, Alma, MI.
Funeral Services will be held at First Baptist Church of Vestaburg, MI, on Sunday, September 11, 2022, at 2:30 P.M., with Pastor Dan Palmer officiating. Burial will take place at Richland Township Cemetery, Vestaburg, MI. Visitation will be held at Smith Family Funeral Homes, St. Louis, MI, on Saturday, September 10, 2022, from 2-8 P.M. with the family present from 2-4 & 6-8 P.M.
Dean was born in Edmore, Michigan on October 26, 1938, the son of Marion Francis and Dorothy Clara (Borton) Crosby. He graduated from Vestaburg High School with the class of 1957. He proudly served his country with the United States Army. Dean was a machinist at Morbark for nearly 30 years. On June 24, 1995, Dean married Inez Lorraine Mullin at Strickland Baptist Church. They have been blessed with 27 years of marriage.
He loved music and was a gifted musician. He played many different instruments and enjoyed singing in area jamborees. He liked to fish. He loved to spend time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Dean was a man of faith. He was an active member of First Baptist Church of Vestaburg.
He is survived by his wife Inez; seven children: Roger (Stephanie) Crosby of Lacey, WA; Kimberly (Frank) Lopez of LaBelle, FL; Edward (Betty) Mullin of Mt. Pleasant, MI; Connie (Ron) Kukal of Sheridan, WY; Roger Mullin of Kalkaska, MI; Gary (Mary) Mullin of Mt. Pleasant, MI; and Paul Mullin of Mt. Pleasant, MI. He is also survived by eighteen grandchildren, thirty-four great grandchildren, and four siblings: Don (Rosemary) Crosby, Janis Crosby, Patricia Frost, and JoAnn Crosby. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother-in-law Ken Frost.
