Dean Howd

Dean L. Howd, age 78, of St. Louis, MI passed away Saturday, March 27, 2010 at his home.

Funeral Services will be held at Smith Family Funeral Homes St. Louis Chapel St. Louis, MI on Tuesday, March 30, 2010 at 1:00 P.M. Mr. Keith Wise will officiate. Burial will follow at Oak Grove Cemetery St. Louis, MI. Visitation will be held on Monday March 29, 2010 from 6-8 PM at the funeral home.

Dean was born in Breckenridge, Michigan on February 14, 1932, the son of Howard and Vera (Swisher) Howd. Dean married Catherine McIntosh on August 18, 1952 in Ithaca. He resided most of his life in St. Louis.

Dean retired from Lobdell-Emery in Alma. The most important thing to him was his family and spending time with them. He also enjoyed fishing.

He is survived by his wife Catherine Howd of St. Louis, MI; son Dennis and Stella Howd of Alma, MI; son Richard and Deborah Howd of St. Louis, MI; daughter Christy Howd of Crystal, MI; son Larry Howd and Vicki Hunt of Alma, MI;
son James and Tracy Howd of St. Louis, MI; son Scott and Tammy Howd of St. Louis, MI; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; 2 sisters Mary and Ray Higley of St. Louis, MI; Margaret SanMiquel of Virginia.

Dean was preceded in death by his parents, a granddaughter Heather, and also 4 brothers.

Memorial contributions may be made to Mid-Michigan Homecare Hospice. The family is being served by Smith Family Funeral Homes St. Louis Chapel St. Louis, Michigan.
