Debra Huss

Debra Fay Huss age 63, of North Star, MI, passed away Sunday, May 5, 2019, at her home surrounded by her family.

Funeral Services will be held at Smith Family Funeral Homes Ithaca, MI, on Thursday, May 9, 2019 at 11:00 A.M., with Kathryn Strouse officiating. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 8, 2019 from 2:00-8:00 P.M. at the funeral home.

Debra was born in Alma, MI on April 19, 1956, the daughter of Arlan Charles and Ardis Rose (Fisk) Harrier.  She graduated from St. Louis High School with the class of 1974. Debra married Francis “Frank” Lee Huss Jr. on April 22, 1978, at Debra's brother's home near Beebee, MI.

Debra worked at Wolverine Shoe Factory for many years and also was a substitute for Eight-Cap. Debra loved camping, being outdoors, gardening, flowers, and drinking coffee.  Debra enjoyed driving the handicapped golf carts at the Buckley Steam Engine Show. She loved working with children and helped for many years with the Easter Egg Hunts in North Star. She adored her granddaughters.

She is survived by her husband Frank Huss of North Star, MI; daughter Rebecca and Billy Terry Jr. of Alma, MI; 3 granddaughters: Jacqueline, Evelyn, and Vanessa Terry; brother Bernard and Carolyn Harrier of Alma, MI; sister Carol and Craig Goward of North Star, MI; brothers in law: Harold and Kourtenay Huss of Nashville, KS; Douglas and Dora Huss of North Star, MI; Rodney Huss of Ashley, MI.  She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews and many special friends.  Debra was preceded in death by her parents, sister Nancy Shepard, brother in law Vernon Huss, nephew "AJ" Aloysius Huss, great niece Stephanie Wallace and step grandson Billy Terry III.
