Debra Louise "Deb" Vaclavik, age 70, of Ovid, MI, passed away Monday, August 15, 2022, at Sparrow Health Systems, Lansing, MI with her family beside her.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Ovid VFW Hall on Sunday, September 18, 2022, from 1-4 P.M.
Debra was born in Owosso, Michigan on February 28, 1952, the daughter of Charles E. and Georgiana L. (Critikos) Weiderer. Deb graduated from Ovid-Elsie High School with the class of 1970. She went on to receive her bachelor’s degree in business administration from Baker College in Owosso. On July 2, 1977 Deb married Edwin Vaclavik in Ovid, MI.
Deb was employed with FBR for many years, working in St. Johns, Lansing, and Flint. Later on she went to work with Miller's Water Softener as a secretary and also Simpson's Greenhouse for many years. Deb enjoyed bowling at Tri-Ami and was also a youth bowling coach. She loved babysitting her grandchildren, knitting and crocheting, making each one of her family members an afghan. The last few years she was busy as a co-leader with the Cowabunga Critters with the Shiawassee County 4-H program involving rabbits. Deb enjoyed making people laugh, feeling welcomed and was there to help anyone in need.
She is survived by her husband Ed Vaclavik of Ovid, MI; daughter Donna and Dan Hall of Ovid, MI; son Bill and Leesa Vaclavik of Ovid,MI; grandchildren: Caleb Hall (Annika Pupava) of Ovid, MI; Xander Vaclavik (Chloe Moore) of Ovid, MI; Callie Hall of Ovid, MI; Zoey Vaclavik of Ovid,MI; Calsea Hall of Ovid, MI; Jaxon Vaclavik of Ovid, MI; siblings: Charles and Nadine Weiderer of Tampa, FL; Steve and Mary Weiderer of Owosso, MI; Virginia Weiderer of Ovid, MI; David Weiderer of Ovid, MI; and sister-in-law Diane and Dave Olney of Ludington, MI. She is also survived by special grandson Ethan Klingler of Ovid, MI; all of her special 4-H Critter members, her best buds Sir Ringo and Muffin, her BFF's Mareta Valentine of Florida and Sheree Stevens of Chapin, MI and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents Georgiana Weiderer, Charles Edward (Erma) Weiderer, one brother Michael Weiderer, nephew Redneck Dave, mother-in-law Mary Quinn, her grandparents, and many aunts and uncles.
