Delfida Beola Fabela, age 65 of Wheeler, MI, passed away Tuesday, May 2, 2017, at her home surrounded by her loving family.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Mt. St. Joseph Catholic Church St. Louis, MI, on Saturday, May 6, 2017 at 11:00 A.M. , with Rev. Fr. Thai Nguyen officiating.  Burial will take place at Riverside Cemetery, Alma, MI.  Visitation will be held on Friday, May 5, 2017 from 2-8 P.M. with family present from 2-4 & 6-8 P.M. at Smith Family Funeral Homes St. Louis, MI, with a Rosary Service held at 2:00 P.M.

Delfida was born in Alma, MI on July 24, 1951, the daughter of Domingo Aleman and Patrosina (Benavidez) Fabela.  She graduated from Alma High School.  She was a member of Mt. St. Joseph Catholic Church, St. Louis, MI.  Delfida read her Bible every day and said prayers.  She loved playing Bingo and Solitaire and doing puzzles.  She loved her family, especially riding her amigo around town with her grandchildren.  She enjoyed watching old Westerns and old family sitcoms.  She really enjoyed car rides, especially when they ended at the Soaring Eagle Casino.  Delfida was proud of getting her name on the wall at Pixie's.  She was very outgoing, always on the go, dancing (even won a dance competition), and being "dressed to impress".

Delfida is survived by her daughters: Doris Fabela (fiance Shawn Sexton) of Wheeler and Cassandra Fabela of Wheeler, 4 grandchildren:  Aaliyah McCaw, Haven Fabela-Sexton, Layla Fabela and Nicholas Friend, siblings: Domingo Fabela of St. Louis, MI, Delia (Raul Jr.) Garza of Alma, MI, Thelma (Marvin) Leonhardt of Idaho, Doris (Baldo) Esquivel of Breckenridge, MI, Diane Garza (partner Jóse Gonzalez) of Alma, MI, and David (Rita) Fabela of Ithaca, MI, and many nieces and nephews.  Delfida was preceded in death by her parents and sister Delfina Fabela.
