Dennis Lane Anderson

      Dennis Lane Anderson, age 62, of Ovid, MI, passed away Friday, July 7, 2023, at Hospice House of Mid-Michigan, Lansing, Michigan.

     Funeral Services will be held at Smith Family Funeral Homes - Houghton Chapel, Ovid, MI, on Wednesday, July 12, 2023, at 11:00 A.M. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 11, 2023, from 2-8 P.M., with the family present from 2-4 & 6-8 P.M. at the funeral home. Burial will take place at Maple Grove Cemetery, Ovid, MI at a later date.

      Dennis was born in St. Johns, Michigan on January 12, 1961, the son of Samuel C. and Dorris Jean (Morehouse) Anderson. He attended Ovid-Elsie Area Schools. Dennis worked many places over the years including: Shroyer Auto Parts, Lansing Poured Walls, Ashley Salvage & Auto Parts, and BNM Trailers.

       Dennis loved working on cars. He collected and restored several 72 Grand Prix. Dennis and Kevin Gordon went to many swap meets around MI and OH. They enjoyed going to the Carlton Park Car Show and the Woodward Dream Cruise. Dennis enjoyed time with his friends: Kevin Gordon, Nancy Shaver, Samantha Gordon, Russell Thornton, John Wilber, Mark Vaas, Scott Looney, Jeff Aseltine, and Al Brandal.

     Dennis kept a positive and hopeful attitude after being diagnosed with stage IV cancer. He appreciated all the help he received during this time from BNM Trailers and the employees. He also was thankful for his brother John taking him to all of his chemo treatments and doctors’ appointments. 

       He is survived by his daughter Shannen Accord of Owosso, MI; daughter-in-law Cassandra Anderson, his sister Karen Anderson and Doug Foster, his brother John and Paulette Anderson, his sister Phyllis and Gordon Squier, his sister Jan Anderson, his brother Eric and Susan Anderson, and his sister-in-law Sandy Anderson. He is also survived by seven grandchildren: Jaqueline, Krystal, Shelbey, Thomas, Mia, Cameron, and Samantha.  He was preceded in death by his parents, his son Zachary Thomas Anderson, his brother Tim Anderson, and his close friend Kevin Gordon
