Dennis Lee Bartlett, age 45, of Blanchard, MI died Tuesday, October 2, 2012 at his home with his family at his side after his brave battle with lung cancer.
Funeral Services will be held at Faith United Methodist Church, Edmore, MI on Friday, October 5, 2012 at 11:00 A.M. with Rev. Michael Riegler and Rev. Jim Houseman officiating. Burial will take place at Vinewood Cemetery in Edmore, MI. Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 4, 2012 from 2-8 P.M. with family present from 2-4 & 6-8 P.M. at Faith United Methodist Church in Edmore.
Dennis was born in Carson City, Michigan on April 4, 1967, the son of Dale and Darla (Hansen) Bartlett. He graduated from Montabella High School with the class of 1985. He married Nancy Walker on June 29, 2002 at Seville Church of God. Dennis was a lifelong resident of the Edmore/Blanchard area. For the past two years, he was employed as the Village of Edmore DPW Supervisor. He had worked for the Village of Edmore DPW department for the past 8 years, and had also worked for Diamond Construction. Dennis loved gardening, horseback riding, bonfires and sunsets, and watching the stars at night. He also enjoyed decorating for Christmas, and was an avid Redwings fan. Most of all, he loved spending time with his family.
He is survived by his wife of 10 wonderful years Nancy Bartlett of Blanchard, MI, mother Darla Bartlett of Edmore, MI, daughter Alexandria Bartlett and Andrew Andersen of Vestaburg, MI, son Andrew Bartlett and Naomi Stebbins of Vestaburg, MI, grandchildren; Emma Bartlett, Preston Hines, and Jennie Bissell, brother Doug and Melanie Bartlett of Edmore, MI, sister Darcy and Bill Walukonis of Cedar Springs, MI, sister in law Charlette and Jim Carll of Middleton, MI, brother in law Bill and Bonnie Walker of Vestaburg, MI, extra special friends Bud and Spring Bissell of Blanchard, MI, and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father Dale Bartlett.
