The gates of Heaven opened Sunday, September 15, 2013 so that Dennis Truax will be in his final resting place, where his mother Pat will meet him with open arms, after bravely fighting pancreatic cancer for over two years.

A Memorial Service will be held at North Star Twp. Hall 2840 E. Buchanan Rd. on Saturday, September 21, 2013 at 3:00 P.M., with a luncheon to follow. Pastor Kathryn Strouse will officiate. A Memorial Visitation will be held an hour prior to services beginning at 2:00 PM.

Dennis was born in Lansing, Michigan on October 21, 1964, the son of Robert D. and Patricia K. (Benton) Truax. He graduated from Perry High School. He married his best friend Kendra (Benjamin) Truax on August 23, 1997 in North Star, MI. Dennis had resided in North Star since 1996. Dennis and his loving wife, Kendra of 16 years owns and operates North Star Garage Door LLC and has for the past 17 years. His greatest treasures were his family and friends, fishing, deer hunting, and metal detecting.

Dennis is survived by his wife Kendra Truax of North Star, MI, loving daughter Casey Truax (Zach McNees) of Mt. Pleasant, MI, beloved son Cameron Truax (Jessica Stellow) of Breckenridge, MI, father Robert and Rita Truax of Lansing, MI, brother Bob and Susan McGuire of Comstock Park, MI, brother Jeff and Karen Truax of St. Johns, MI, mother in law Nancy Benjamin of Dewitt, MI, and many nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles. He was preceded in death by his mother, Patricia Benton, and father in law Kenneth Benjamin. The family wishes to extend their appreciation to Great Lakes Caring Hospice.
