Denver Dale Moore, Age 87, of Vanceburg, Kentucky passed away Thursday March 14, 2013 with his family by his side after an extended illness.

Graveside Services will be held at the Oak Grove Cemetery St. Louis, MI, with full military rites on Tuesday March 19, 2013 at 1:00 PM. Visitation will be held prior to the service from 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM at Smith Family Funeral Home, St. Louis, MI.

Denver was born in Shepherd, Michigan August 24, 1925 to the late Paul & Mary Bohannon Moore. Denver worked for Dow Chemical in Midland, Michigan for over 30 years as a chemical process control supervisor. He also taught for Dow Chemical for 8 and a half years. After retiring he moved to Vanceburg and owned and operated H&R Block Income Tax Office for 7 years. Denver was a 3rd degree Master Mason of the Salt River Lodge # 288 of Free and Accepted Masons. He was also was a member of Polar Star Lodge Blue Lodge # 363 of Vanceburg, Ky. Denver was a Veteran of the United States Navy which he so proudly served his country during World War II. He was a member of the Vanceburg United Methodist Church.

He is survived by 2 daughters; Mary Jo Cantu of Vanceburg, KY, and Camile Moore of LaQuinta, CA, 2 sons; James and Ronald Moore both of LaQuinta, CA, brother Richard Moore of Sanford, MI, sister Della Teegarden of St. Louis, MI, 2 stepsons; Ithiel Staggs of Firebrick, KY, and Wayne Boling of Cattletsburg, KY, 2 stepdaughters; Sherry Swim and Cathy Thurman both of Vanceburg, KY, 15 grandchildren and several great grandchildren also survive who will sadly mourn his passing. He was preceded in death by his parents, his 1st wife- Bette Ruth Laubscher Moore on September 7, 1981 and his 2nd wife- Pauline Overstreet Moore on August 9, 1991, as well as 6 brothers, 1 sister, step-son- Cecil Staggs, and a special brother-in-law- Lawrence Teegarden.
