Derrick Kenneth Crutts, age 68, of Owosso, MI passed away Thursday, January 14, 2010 at Memorial Healthcare, Owosso, MI.

Funeral Services will be held at Smith Family Funeral Homes Jennings-Lyons Chapel Owosso, MI on Monday, January 18, 2010 at 1:00 P.M. Chaplain Beverly Adcock will officiate. Visitation will be held on Monday prior to the service from 10-1 PM.

Derrick was born in Owosso, Michigan on September 23, 1941, the son of Richard K. and Virginia (Norris) Crutts. He was a graduate of Owosso High School with the class of 1959. He served in the U.S. Army and resided most of his life in Owosso.

Derrick worked with the Stock Exchange in California for 20 years, later working for Chrysler Corporation when he moved back to Michigan. He loved to read, working with electronics and watching western movies. Derrick will be remembered for his special smile.

He is survived by his brother Richard and Claire Crutts of Owosso, MI, nephew Richard Crutts Jr. of Owosso, MI, nephew Robert Crutts of Owosso, MI, niece Julie Crutts of Owosso, MI, nephew Kevin and Melissa Piggott of Ionia, MI, aunt Viola and Fred Banghart of Owosso, MI. Derrick is also survived by his great-nieces, nephews and many cousins. Derrick was preceded in death by his parents and his brother Ralph who passed away during the Vietnam War in 1969.
