Devona Mae Gooding, age 75, of Corunna, MI died Thursday, September 2, 2010 at Memorial Healthcare Center in Owosso, MI.

Funeral Services will be held at Smith Family Funeral Homes, Corunna Chapel on Tuesday, September 7, 2010 at 11:00 A.M. Pastor Cheryll Warren will officiate and burial will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens, Owosso, MI. Visitation will be held on Monday, September 6, 2010 from 2-4 & 6-8 Pm. at Smith Family Funeral Homes.

Devona was born in Pontiac Township, Michigan on July 21, 1935, the daughter of Harold and Marie (Luchenbill) Baker. She graduated from Byron High School with the class of 1953. Devona married Donald Gooding, Sr. on Feb. 11, 1956 in Corunna, MI. Devona had resided in the Corunna area for the last 55 years. She was an avid reader, bear collector, and loved spending time with her grandchildren. She also enjoyed trips with her sisters and friends shopping.

Devona is survived by her husband Donald Gooding Sr. of Corunna, MI, daughter Denise and Rick LaChappelle of Swartz Creek, MI, son Donald and Bobbi Gooding, Jr. of Owosso, MI, daughter Diane and Curt Johnson of Owosso, MI, son Douglas and Wendy Gooding of Corunna, MI, son Daniel Gooding of Corunna, MI, 15 grandchildren, 3 great granddaughters, 3 sisters; Faye and Dale Aurand of Owosso, MI, Sharon and Dave Leatherman of Owosso, MI, and Judy and Jeff Will of Lennon, MI. She was preceded in death by her parents.
