Diane Lynn DeCatur age 48 of Harrison, MI formerly of St. Johns, MI died Monday, August 4, 2008 at Sparrow Health Systems Sparrow Campus, Lansing, MI.
There will be no services held.
Diane was born in Lansing, Michigan on January 7, 1960 the daughter of Ernest Wesley and Diane Marie (Youngs) Tompkins. She resided most of her life in St. Johns until moving to Harrison 20 years ago. Diane married David Frank DeCatur on July 23, 2003 in Harrison, Michigan. Diane was a homemaker. She enjoyed crafts, gardening, canning, spending time with her grandchildren, and raising and releasing Monarch butterflies.
She is survived by her husband David F. DeCatur of Harrison, MI, mother Diane Harger of St. Johns, MI, daughter Amy and Jason Sanderson of Harrison, MI, son Ryan Wakefield of Florida, 5 grandchildren; Logan, Mariah, Gretchen, Amelia and Zoey, grandmother Fleda Youngs of St. Johns, MI, brother David and Dolores Tompkins of St. Johns, MI, brother Gordon and Tina Tompkins of Lansing, MI, brother Michael Tompkins of St. Johns, MI, sister Traci and Darrell Deering of Maryland, brother Daniel and Tammy Harger of Tennessee, brother Eric and Terri Harger of St. Johns, MI, sister Holly and John Noble of Florida, 2 step sisters Sharon and Gordon Willett of Hastings, MI, step sister Christine Cunningham of Okemos, MI, half brother Michael Adams of Michigan, and many friends and extended family members. She was predeceased by her father, and grandfather Carl Youngs.
Memorials may be made to the Shriners Children Hospital. The family is being served by Smith Family Funeral Homes St. Johns Chapel St. Johns, Michigan.
