Dick Freshney

Richard M. Freshney age 66 of Vestaburg, Michigan died Wednesday, September 19, 2007 at St. Lawrence Hospital, Lansing, MI.

Memorial Services will be held at Lighthouse Baptist Church Riverdale, MI on Saturday, September 29, 2007 at 10:00 AM. Pastor Ron Helsenberg will officiate.

Richard was born in Eaton Rapids, Michigan on August 28, 1941 the son of Morris and Marian ( Raymer ) Freshney. He resided most of his life in the Lansing area until moving to Rock Lake 16 years ago. He graduated from Everett High School, Lansing, Michigan with the class of 1959, he then earned his associates degree in Business from LCC. Richard married Karen Cooper on July 9, 1960 at Lansing South Baptist Church. He was the owner & operator of Freshey Personnel in Lansing for several years. He retired as a social worker with the State of Michigan 10 years ago. Dick was an avid reader, he loved his pets, enjoyed listening to music, attending Bible study, playingcards in the pinocle club, and playing dominoes.

He is survived by his wife Karen Freshney of Vestaburg, MI, 2 sons; Ron & Patty Freshney of Holt, MI, Dan Freshney of Vestaburg, MI, and 4 grandchildren; Mike, Chrissy, Jenny, & Alex. He is predeceased by his parents, and 2 infant sisters.

Memorials may be made to American Heart Association. The family is being served by Smith Family Funeral Homes, St. Louis Chapel.
