Donald Seward Butcher, Jr., age 56, of Corunna, MI passed away Friday, July 24th, 2009 at his home.

Funeral Services will be held at Corunna United Methodist Church Corunna, MI on Wednesday, July 29th at 11:00 A.M. , Pastor David Strobe and Rev. Thomas Butcher will officiate. Burial will take place at Pine Tree Cemetery, Corunna, MI. Visitation will be held on Monday, July 27, 2009 from 6-8 P.M. and Tuesday, July 28, 2009 from 2-4 & 6-8 P.M... at Smith Family Funeral Homes, Corunna Chapel, Corunna, MI

Donald was born in Owosso, Michigan on July 5, 1953, the son of Donald S. and Joann (Sullivan) Butcher. He graduated from Corunna High School in 1971. He then attended Western Michigan University where he earned his Bachelors Degree in Education for K-12. Donald was a teacher for grades K-12 and taught school in Texas, Hawaii, and also was an instructor for computers at Davenport University. Donald resided most of his life in Corunna, after spending time in Texas and Hawaii. He was a member of Corunna United Methodist Church Corunna, MI

He is survived by his father and stepmother Donald and Annabelle Butcher of Corunna, MI; his siblings Rev Thomas and Charly Butcher of Arizona: Kathryn and Richard Bacon of Clio: Sue and Duane Krauss of Owosso: Janice and John Yerian of Corunna: Sandra and Clayton Breiler of Chesaning: Timothy and Kelly Butcher of Lennon; He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles. He was predeceased by his mother Joann Butcher on October 17, 1989.
