Donald O. Cook Jr., age 83, of Owosso, MI passed away Friday, August 14, 2009 at his home.
Funeral Services will be held at Smith Family Funeral Homes Jennings-Lyons Chapel Owosso, MI on Wednesday, August 19, 2009 at 11:00 A.M. Chaplain Beverly Adcock will officiate. Burial will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery Owosso, MI. Visitation will be held on Tuesday August 18, 2009 from 2-8 PM with family present 2-4 & 6-8 PM. at the Funeral Home.
Donald was born in Owosso, Michigan on September 23, 1925, the son of Donald and Florence-Etta (Bailey) Cook. He resided most of his life in the Flint & Owosso area. He served his country in the U.S. Navy during WW II. Donald married Jo Smithson in February 1975 in Flint. She passed away on November 28, 2000.
Donald sang with the Barber Shop Quartet, Capitol City Chordsmen. He enjoyed antique cars, the outdoors, and hunting and fishing.
He is survived by his 2 sons; Michael and Jana Cook of Flushing, MI, Patrick and Gayle Cook of Waller, TX, 2 daughters; Robin Spencer of Grand Blanc, MI, Jennifer Lamet of Dryden, MI, grandchildren; Christopher and Devon Cook, Daniel Cook, Shawn and Elizabeth Simme, Andrea Simme, Joshua Spencer, Nicole and Stephen Guile, Alisha and David Wolverton, Brandy and Tim Ketchum, Samantha Ward, Ryan Ward, 3 great-grandchildren, brother Bruce and Jackie Cook of Owosso, MI.
