Donald Walter Elkins, age 62, of Owosso, MI passed away Monday, March 29, 2010 at Memorial Healthcare Center, Owosso, MI.
A Memorial Service will be held at Redeemer Lutheran Church Owosso, MI on Friday, April 2, 2010 at 1:00 P.M., Pastor David Woodby will officiate. Visitation will be held on Friday, April 2, 2010 from 12:00 - 1:00 P.M. at Redeemer Lutheran Church, Owosso, MI.
Donald was born in Owosso, Michigan on May 23, 1947, the son of John M. and Pauline (Melvin) Elkins. He graduated from Corunna High School with the class of 1965. Don also served in the U.S. Navy. He worked for GM Buick Motor Division in Flint until his retirement in 1996. Don enjoyed riding motorcycles, going for walks, and going to the Salvation Army on a daily basis. His greatest joy in life was spending time with his family and friends. Don resided all of his life in the Owosso and Corunna area. He was a member of the Iron Wheels Motorcycle Club and the UAW.
He is survived by 2 sons; Josh and Julia Elkins of Owosso, MI, Kyle Elkins of Chesaning; 4 grandchildren; Jozalynn Elkins, Kenton Elkins, Skylar Elkins, Devlin Nally, 1 great grandchild, 2 sisters; Rose and David Gilbert of Corunna and Shirley Langdon of Owosso, MI, and several nephews. He was predeceased by his parents and one daughter Kelly Elkins.
