Donald McCarrick Sr.

Donald Lee McCarrick Sr. age 78 of Beaverton, MI, passed away Saturday, August 5, 2017.

Funeral Services will be held at Smith Family Funeral Homes- Houghton Chapel, Ovid, MI at 2:00 P.M. on Thursday, August 10, 2017 with Pastor Mona Kindel officiating. Burial will take place at Maple Grove Cemetery, Ovid, MI.  Visitation will be held on Wednesday, August 9, 2017 from 2-8 P.M. at Smith Family Funeral Homes - Houghton Chapel.

Donald was born in Ovid, Michigan on January 20, 1939, the son of Lew and Mable E. (Spiegel) McCarrick.  Donald married Billie Hicks on January 20, 1971 in Warren, MI.  Don resided most of his life in Warren and Beaverton, MI.

Don was a member of the Beaverton Eagles Aerie 3655.  He loved hunting, fishing and boating. Don was an avid football and baseball fan. He was also an avid card player, and especially loved playing euchre.  But most of all he loved taking things apart and putting them together in his garage, he could fix anything.  Don retired from General Plastic in Troy.

He is survived by his wife Billie McCarrick of Beaverton, MI, daughter Julie Gardner of Ferndale, MI, daughter Bonnie Venus of Warren, MI, son Donald "Butch" McCarrick Jr. of Warren, MI, son Steve McCarrick of Hazel Park, MI, daughter Shelby and Leo Good-Bergamo of Macomb, MI, son Burley and Diane Good of Swartz Creek, MI, son Michael McCarrick of Hazel Park, MI, son Donald "Scott" McCarrick of Beaverton, MI, son Steven Donald McCarrick of Madison Heights, MI, son Benny McCarrick of Beaverton, MI, 26 grandchildren, 29 great grandchildren, sister Ruth Cummings of Corunna, MI, sister Judy Passmore of Ferndale, MI, and brother Bill McCarrick of Owosso, MI.  Don was preceded in death by his parents, 2 grandchildren, 2 sisters; Leeda Laverty and Dolly Angel and brother Ed McCarrick.
