Donald Risk Jr.

Donald Fredrick Risk Jr., 85 of Ovid, Michigan, passed away Tuesday, September 20, 2016 at Hazel I. Findlay Country Manor, St. Johns, Michigan.

A Memorial Service will be held at Heartland Church 8440 East M-21, Ovid, MI on Saturday, October 1, 2016 at 2:00 P.M., with Pastor Ben McBride officiating.  A luncheon will follow the service at the church. Visiting will be held on Saturday an hour prior to the service at the church.

Donald was born in Lansing, Michigan on September 21, 1930, the son of Donald Fredrick and Ina Beatrice (Ballans) Risk.  He graduated from Eastern High School and resided most of his life in Lansing and Rapid City, MI.  Donald married Lolabell Redinger on June 14, 1952 in Parkers Corners, MI.

Spending time with his family was the most important thing to him and he found great joy in his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.  Donald retired from Consumers Energy after 36 years.  He was president of the local Union.  He was also a member of the Elsie Masonic Lodge and prior to that the Elk Rapids Masonic Lodge where he was active for many years.  Donald loved it Up North and enjoyed hunting and fishing.

Donald is survived by his wife Lolabell Risk of Ovid, MI, son Michael and Sidney Risk of Laingsburg, MI, daughter Sharon Fluke of Lakeland, FL, 4 grandsons; Shad & Nicole Risk, Shane & Angela Risk, Nicholas Welsh and Tyler Welsh, 4 great grandchildren; Liam, Claire, Bryce and Vaughn, and brother Ronald and Kitty Risk of Lake Odessa, MI.  He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister Beverly Wolter.
