Donald Lee Salters, age 89, of Lansing, MI passed away Monday, January 6, 2014, at his home.
Funeral Services will be held at Smith Family Funeral Homes St. Johns, MI on Friday, January 10, 2014 at 2:00 P.M., with Rev. Brad Lockwood officiating. Burial will follow at South Bingham Township Cemetery St. Johns, Michigan. Visitation will be held on Thursday, January 9, 2014 from 3-7 P.M. at the funeral home.
Donald was born in St. Johns, Michigan on November 20, 1924, the son of Arthur and Helen (Hunt) Salters. He served his country in the US Army during WW II. Donald married Kathryn Elizabeth Miller on August 15, 1942. He retired as a Warehouse Manager with Associated Wholesale Grocers in 1986 after 34 years of service.
Donald is survived by his wife of 72 years, Kathryn Salters, son Daniel and Brenda Salters, daughter Susan McIntrye, all of Lansing, MI, son David and Kriss Salters of Gregory, MI, daughter Debra and Jeff Lecato of Lansing, MI, 6 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, 3 great great grandchildren, brother Leon and Linda Salters of Mecosta, MI and sister Betty Blemaster of Maple Rapids, MI. Donald was preceded in death by his parents, 2 sisters; Lena Hertzburg and Marguerite Halstead, 4 brothers; Bob, Clare, Stuart and Larry Salters and son-in-law Richard McIntyre.
