Donald Schneider

Donald A. Schneider, age 88, of Fowler, MI, passed away Monday, September 25, 2017 at Hazel I. Findlay Country Manor, St. Johns, MI.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Most Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Fowler, MI, on Thursday, September 28, 2017 at 10:30 A.M., with Rev. Fr. Dennis Howard officiating.  Burial will take place at Most Holy Trinity Cemetery, Fowler, MI.  Visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 27, 2017 from 2-8 P.M. with family present from 2-4 & 6-8 P.M. with Rosary Services at 3 & 8 p.m. at Smith Family Funeral Homes - Goerge Chapel, Fowler, MI.

Donald was born in Westphalia, MI on August 18, 1929, the son of Andrew and Mary Elizabeth (Rademacher) Schneider, the fourth of eleven children.  He married Alice M. Schafer on August 22, 1950 at Most Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Fowler, MI. Their 67 years of marriage was blessed with 13 children, and many grandchildren, and great grandchildren.

Donald was a lifelong farmer in Fowler and worked at General Motors.  He enjoyed playing cards, going to the casino, color tours, traveling, and spending time with ALL of his family.  He was a member of Most Holy Trinity Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus.

Donald is survived by his wife Alice, children; Joanne (Chuck) Miller, Leon (Stephanie) Schneider, Joyce (Mike) Bond, Jim (Sue) Schneider, Gary (LuAnn) Schneider, Mark (Marilyn) Schneider, Joe (D. Ann) Schneider, Bob Schneider, Mike (Dawn) Schneider, Patty (Kurt) Koenigsknecht, Terry (Carrie) Schneider, daughter-in-law Eileen Schneider, 39 grandchildren, 83 great grandchildren (plus 2 on the way), 1 great, great grandson, brothers; Rich (Helen) Schneider, Edwin (Monica) Schneider, sister Marie (Jack) Martin, and many nieces and nephews.  Donald was preceded in death by his parents, sons; Ron and Tom, granddaughter Michelle Schneider, 2 great grandchildren; Sabastian and Gabriel Schneider, and siblings; Alfred, Melvin, Sr. Adeline, Gerald, Germaine, Leonard, and Stan.
