Donald B. VanEtten age 77 of St. Louis, Michigan died Wednesday, January 5, 2005 at Gratiot Community Hospital in Alma, Michigan.
Funeral Services will be held Friday, January 7, 2005 at 1:00 P.M. at Smith Family Funeral Homes, St. Louis Chapel. Mr. Keith Wise will officiate. Burial will take place at Riverside Cemetery in Alma, Michigan. Visitation will be Thursday from 2-8 P.M. with family present from 2-4 & 6-8 P.M.
Donald was born in Flint, Michigan on October 29, 1927 the son of Cleo Vernard & Vera (Peterson) VanEtten. On May 3, 1947 he married Evelyn Nicholls in Asbury Church in Flint, Michigan.
Donald grew up in Flint and resided in Ithaca for 20 years until moving to Ohio, then moved back to St. Louis 2 years ago. He owned and operated Dona�(TM)s Heating & Cooling in Ithaca many years until his health and disability required his retirement. He loved to bowl, play pool and woodworking.
Survivors include his wife; Evelyn VanEtten of St. Louis, Michigan, 4 children; Mary & Lewie Wicks of Alma, Michigan, Ken & Sue VanEtten of Lansing, Michigan, David VanEtten of St. Louis, Michigan, Bernie VanEtten & Leslie Denley of Oregon. He is also survived by 7 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren, 2 sisters; Geraldine Neville of Hale, Michigan, Nancy Totten of Flint, Michigan, 1 brother; William & Pat VanEtten of Grand Blanc, Michigan. He was predeceased by his parents.
Memorials may be made to the family. The family is being served by Smith Family Funeral Homes, St. Louis Chapel.
